Canon imagePROGRAF TM-340 36-Inch Large-Format Printer with Stand and Basket

Designed for your next project

The imagePROGRAF TM-340 is a 36-inch large-format printer configuration with a stand and catch basket. Its five-colour system and media-detection and colour-calibration features support a workflow for posters and plotted documents. This configuration identifies 300 ml of ink. Consider both the printer footprint and the space needed to handle larger output when planning its location. A large-format page is most useful when the file is prepared at the intended size, with readable detail and suitable margins.

Your configuration

The printer model in the title is the reference for software, media limits and replacement supplies. Stand, basket or other accessories are included only where explicitly named in this listing. Additional paper and replacement consumables should be planned separately for the workload you expect.

Bring the print workflow under your control

Owning a printer makes it easier to review an idea on paper, adjust it and produce another copy without interrupting the rest of your work. Start by choosing the document size and paper type, then check the application settings before sending the job. A preview helps catch clipped text, unwanted margins or an incorrect orientation. For a series of prints, save a consistent set of settings so later copies are produced in the same way as the approved sample.

Choose media for the intended result

Paper is part of the finished product. Weight, surface and size influence handling and appearance, so use media supported by the exact printer and load it according to the instructions. Keep unused sheets flat and protected from humidity. When moving between media types, update the printer and software settings as needed. A printer cannot produce the same appearance on every surface, and selecting a suitable paper is often one of the most effective ways to improve presentation without changing the design itself.

Prepare files before you print

For photographs and graphics, begin with a file that has enough detail for the intended output size. Enlarging a small image does not create missing detail. For documents, use readable type, check page breaks and confirm that essential information sits inside the printable area. Print a sample before a long run, especially when colour or layout is important. Reviewing the actual sheet gives you a better basis for changes than relying only on how the file appears on a display.

Make colour and consistency part of the process

A screen emits light while a printed page reflects it, so the two will not always look identical. View samples under suitable lighting and keep the workflow consistent when comparing results. Use the correct media settings and avoid applying conflicting colour adjustments in multiple applications. If an output looks different from expected, check the file, driver settings and paper before repeating a large job. A methodical approach makes it easier to identify the cause and keep later prints aligned with an approved sample.

Set up a comfortable printing space

Allow space for the printer, media loading, output and routine maintenance. Check the dimensions and required clearances for the exact model before choosing a shelf or desk. Position supplies where they are easy to reach but protected from dust and moisture. Install the appropriate software for your computer and operating system, and use a supported connection method. For a shared setup, give the printer an identifiable name and run a test from each workstation that will use it regularly.

Manage supplies and maintenance

Use ink or toner specified for the printer model and keep replacement supplies available for important work. Different generations within a printer family can use different cartridges, even when their names look similar. Follow the prompts for maintenance and replace consumables as directed. Paper handling problems are often easier to resolve when the correct media is loaded neatly and the paper path is kept clear. Regular use and sensible storage of supplies help keep the printer ready when a deadline approaches.

Match the printer to the work you produce

Consider the output you make most often, the sizes you need and whether your workflow also requires copying or scanning. Photo printing, office documents and large-format drawings each place different demands on a printer. This listing identifies the model and its principal functions so you can compare it with those needs. Optional stands, extra cartridges, cables and media are included only where specifically listed. Choosing the right configuration makes the printer easier to fit into your working space and everyday routine.
